Practice Areas
Chelcey is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group. Her practice is focused on employment law and related litigation in both state and federal courts, and before various administrative agencies. Additionally, she provides advice and counsel to employers concerning their workplace policies, practices, and personnel decisions. She has defended clients against claims involving:
• Discrimination
• Sexual Harassment
• Wrongful Termination
• Retaliation
• Wage & Hour Violations (including class action allegations)
• Breach of Contract
Chelcey works with a diverse selection of local, regional, and national clients that include:
• Restaurants and grocery stores
• Retail stores
• Health care providers
• Food manufacturers
Prior to joining Weintraub in 2011, Chelcey worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in Los Angeles, where she represented and counseled clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in diverse industries such as banking and finance, restaurant and retail, telecommunications, and money services and transmission.
In addition, Chelcey worked as a law clerk for the Los Angeles County Public Defender, and as a paralegal assistant at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP in Los Angeles.
Chelcey earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School. While in law school, Chelcey was a member of the Hale Moot Court Honors Program. She was also president of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Chelcey earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys golf, tennis, running, painting and health and fitness.
